Arguably, most creative directors have the same affect as the original designer, however in Seán Mcgirr has been capturing the grotesque yet business-casual of Alexander McQueen for the past few seasons.
Their Autumn-Winter 2024 show was held in the outskirts of Paris which was chosen to honor McQueen's showing of the Birds. In his words “it should have sort of playful aggression to it, and should be kind of uplifting, because I want to bring a kind of lightness to McQueen.”
There elements of leather, layering, prints, and more. McGirr truly wanted to capture the structure of these designs when on the models, giving them exaggerated shoulders and waistlines.
This collection serves a beautiful purpose being both runway ready, and functioning as business-wear and event-wear.
